Meersbrook Park Bowling Club was the destination of choice for members of a Sheffield Day Centre when choosing a location for a summer day out on June 11th.

Attendees from Grange Crescent Day Centre have been to the club in previous years and loved it so much they keep coming back, although for some it was their first visit.

Alison, a Support Worker at the Centre, explained the members “really enjoyed playing on the top green and will definitely be wanting to return for another free session soon.”

The visit forms part of MPBC’s implementation of its “Full Community Approach” – a commitment to making bowling at our park available to anybody in the city, whatever their demographic. The approach is placing particular emphasis on reaching groups whose members might have physical or mental health barriers to participation in activity. The Grange Crescent group confirmed our belief that “bowls is good for you” with the members clocking up thousands of steps as well as reporting benefits to their wellbeing.
