Numerous club volunteers welcomed members of the Sheffield Branch of Parkinsons UK for a relaxed afternoon of bowling on 28th August. Following the success of a visit last year, it was wonderful to see some familiar faces as well as many new ones. And some rather good players!

Our thanks go to the group organisers for sorting out the consents that enable us to share these videos and photographs from the event.

Once again the feedback we received was fantastic. Loads of praise for the incredible welcome from our club members who volunteered and many of accounts of how much participants – people with Parkinsons and carers – got from the event, both physically and emotionally. It confirms what we know – that a community orientated bowls clubs is great for community and individual wellbeing.

Well done and grateful thanks to everybody involved, including those bodies that have provided funding enabling us to purchase some of the specialist equipment used for this and similar events!
