Jon has retaken the lead at the top of the Club ladder after a successful July. His grade is now 1179, just above that of Paul J whose grade climbed to 1165 with a single win in July.
A handful of new entries have changed the look of the top places. Tucker won his only game and Grahame won both his games to place 3rd and 5th respectively.
Steve S had a great month increasing his grade by 59 while Jim S lost a similar level of grading points and falls to 8th in the rankings after amassing an impressive 40 games.
Grades are calculated for every match played on the basis of the number of points scored and the strength of the players. For example, if two players who each have a grade of 1000 play one another and Player One wins 11-9 then Player One scores 1250 Grading Points and Player Two scores 750. If they play again and Player Two wins 11-3 the Player Two scores 1667 and Player One gets 333. Their average scores from their two games will equal their new grades, so Player One ends the month with a grade of 791.5 (1583/2). Player Two has a new grade of 1280.5 (2417/2).
